Heres a funny conversation with Kelly about “Coke Mixes”. Read on to see what they are.
(12:10:01) imakemoviespoofs: oh I gotta tell you something funny I learned in sound class, funny but messed up.
(12:10:11) truefoundation: I might write a movie soon, I’m so angry. Heh.
(12:10:13) imakemoviespoofs: kinda has to do with what we are talkin about
(12:10:16) imakemoviespoofs: hah
(12:10:17) truefoundation: Aight
(12:10:26) imakemoviespoofs: ill shoot it *raises hand*
(12:10:42) imakemoviespoofs: ah well we were talking about equalizers in sound2 tonight
(12:10:45) truefoundation: (keep talkin’ about the class thing) I think THEM! 4 might be dead
(12:10:52) imakemoviespoofs: aw
(12:10:52) truefoundation: Ok
(12:10:56) imakemoviespoofs: anyway
(12:11:30) imakemoviespoofs: he was saying how you can change music around when editing it (or anythingni not just music) like with any EQ, you can take off the low or high end or anything
(12:12:01) imakemoviespoofs: anyway what was kinda funny was what he called “Coke Mixes” from the past
(12:13:07) imakemoviespoofs: a while ago a lot of people did drugs in the sound recording buisness apparently. They did so much coke that it dampend their hearing, so much so that they couldent hear the high end as much, and so, the mixes were off, too much high end. And thus, people called them “coke mixes” lol
(12:14:01) truefoundation: Wow, that’s interesting
(12:14:07) imakemoviespoofs: hah yeah
(12:14:16) truefoundation: Maybe that’s why the Doors had so many funky outstanding synth mixes
